Random League note, they do an external/establishing shot of a hospital early in tonight's episode, its actually Philadelphia.  I had a 'wait, that looks familiar.  Rewound, and was like oh yeah i drive by that every day'.   Do you think they got the external via Sunny footage?

How did it feel to wrestle for the NXT women's championship last night?

Oh wait that Bayley not Bailey.  My bad...but still how do you think it felt?

Was that against Charlotte Flair? If it was she probably just wanted Mr. Flair to not hit on her.

If it turns out her real name is something Recoba then ...

For whatever reason, you're in charge of the next WWE game. The developers and programmers and even WWE are all on board behind your vision. What's the game going to be like?

So, I thought about this for the afternoon. I see two different ways to approach it and put universe mode on steroids.

Quote
Do the 90s right!

So it was great with Attitude Era but then the 30 Years of WM seemed like a cheap copy. We all know people want their season mode back. We also know that the E own so many tape libraries and naming rights that this could be possible.

Take 'Be a Player' and turn it into the season mode for the E. You start off working your way through some indy feds, hell use SMW, WCCW, AWA, whatever ones you want to but you have an indy system . You have wrestlers get released and end up on the Indy circuit, your peers get taking into WCW, ECW, and WWF.

Rather than just winning matches you get points for storytelling and high spots and other skills attributes. This builds up your character. You have a 'shortlist' of matches on your highlight reel you can add to to send over to whoever you want to sign for. You could have classic/downloaded wrestlers inserted into this, like the Universe, mode so ECW could have wrestlers that both did and didn't compete for them. Keep the PPV's in place, have it that you can either sign for the E and headline WM or you can drive ECW to the top, or WCW (and didn't they have ratings in GM mode?).

You could choose to take an existing wrestler from nothing to where they belong or make/download your own. I'd be all over this shit, kids would be into it because they want to have their guy be the next Cena, and older fans would like the realism/territory aspect. The amount of Legends contracts floating around mean you could have a packed roster for at least half a dozen feds and if they want to rehash old stories they can but it beats the QTE laden main mode of the last two versions which, whilst fun, I can get the DVD or what not to watch how it actually went down.

Quote
Book Universe...but y'know - actually book the matches

Quick and easy - most people sim or let the CPU play matches for them. Why not have each match have the ability to be booked with high spots and winnners, like GM mode, throw in a competitor or two and a free agent list. You can still play all of them but you now have spots and finishes to hit. The more you personally hit the better the match, if you sim then it's down to how it's perceived. Better ratings for matches equal better ratings for TV which gives you a better 'ranking' (fuck including cash for kids to be baffled by) to sign free agents and what not. This would turn the Universe mode less into a vanity project and more into something competitive. Which brings me to the extension of this.

Have a four person network Universe mode like this!

You and up to three other guys take the pool of wrestlers. Have one show a week, one PPV a month. You sim the undercard, play the rivalry/title matches. If I have The Rock, you can't have The Rock, so it's Fantasy Football etc etc. and people have a reason to play online.

Your thoughts on how to re-do Universe/GM mode are pretty much my fantasy game.

I like you.

Don't bitch, WWE could make it so if you're not Sheamus, Cena, Orton, Reigns, Brock or Batista you don't win ever

I think we all have that "one guy" in this game that pushes us to entirely new levels when it comes to competitive writing. That guy that you see you're facing and the first thought in your head is "shitttt...I'm gonna have to bring my best to hang with this dude."

Who is your one guy? (can be someone from the past, doesn't matter)

Jesus, I've seen next to nothing of NXT for months. So...

Tyson Kidd - This is purely selfish on my part. Either they finally give him something to do and he fulfills his potential as a US Title level wrestler...orrrrrrrrrr he gets released, Nattie dumps him, and I can Dennis System her.

Sami Zayn - Put him back under a beard and then we have 'Imposter Bryan'...or I have a reason to watch WWE on reg.

Adrian Neville - Only because of his Geordie accent he has to have an interpreter and subtitles.

Cast Always Sunny with wrestlers.

So, I did this a page back with SHOOT, with that said (and providing it's of all-time):

Frank: Bastion Booger
Dennis: Personality it'd be modern-day Flair, but closest approx. could be WCW Jericho or Rick Martel
Mac: Brutus (Moves in After Completion - that's Brother Bruti to Hogan)
Dee: Vickie G
Mcpoyles: Dudleyz
Charlie: Eugene would be the obvious answer,  Festus is another contender.

Since you're a fan of The League is it also safe to say you're a fan of It's Always Sunny?

I own a dicktowel

Damn good investment. Dicktowels and kitten mittens all day, erry day.

Who is the Dennis of SHOOT? The Charlie of SHOOT? The Mac of SHOOT? Feel free to go through them all if you want.

Damn good question.

Based on what I can work out so far.

Dennis = Billy Winter, the narcissism, the sadism.
Charlie = Chaos - it makes sense, make the Waitress - Samantha Coil now book that, J, do it!
Mac = Buck Dresden, perhaps Zex
Frank = Could Paul Jarvis do it or is he Rickety Cricket?
Macpoyles = Not totally right but a Project: Scar version of the McPoyles would b horrifying

Man, I wish I had more history here to get The Lawyer, Artemis and Sweet Dee in!
