heres what i thought about batman begins.. gary Oldman was good... Liam neeson as Ra's was great casting choice... but I HATE Bales batman (in all the movies), Katie Holmes was atrocious, Bale was boring as Bruse Wayne,  I thought Cillian Murphy was a terrible scarecrow... not to mention scarecrow was a terrible villian to use in the first movie, and the movie itself was jusy kinda boring. I think I remember falling asleep the first time i saw it.

Gary Oldman, hopefully we can all agree, is good in everything.  One of those actors that never, ever, ever phones it in.  Katie Holmes WAS terrible, but Rachel was a fucking awful character in the first place.  I'd have preferred a more Middle Eastern actor to portray Ra's (maybe somebody like Ghassan Massoud, Ashraf Barhom, or Alexander Siddig), but that's me being more slavish with the source material and wanting a closer resemblance to the character than an Anglo Saxon actor, no matter how awesome Liam Neeson is.  However, I loved Cillian Murphy as Scarecrow.  Smarmy and arrogant and skinny, I can't think or anyone better to play the part.

I got to the theater super late, missed like a half hour of TDR, sat through about fifteen minutes of it and then got up and left the theater figuring it shouldn't watched from the midway point. I was really busy today so I tried to just fit it in, but didn't work out so I'm gonna try to see it for realzies tomor.

Crazy enough, I feel like they could have benefited from another thirty minutes of film to patch some of the holes they had.  Also, it bothered me how often they cut away from people in the act of dying.  There was a serious lack of blood, which is really interesting to me.

For whatever reason, though, I didn't seem to notice it in Dark Knight.  But showing a body at the end of a somewhat central character lying there, supposedly dead from gun shots, with no blood or more importantly bullet holes in his clothing was disconnecting me from the film somewhat.
