Not sure why the US took them out. I think it could have been a way to make their own stamp on the language they are using. Much like the addition of;

We say / You say:
Pavement / Sidewalk

Tap/Faucet

Nappy/Diaper

Motorway/Highway-Freeway

Chemist/Drug store

Windscreen/Windshield

Boot/Trunk

Torch/Flashlight

Dummy/Pacifier

In other words, we changed everything so it would no longer be totally and completely wrong.

Seriously...a torch is something villagers carry to burn Frankenstein's monster to death in a bygone era, not something you carry around in modern times to see in the dark.

Same goes for the rest of those examples.

So, my question...why did you guys name stuff so wrong we had to correct it all?  B)

What do you think is American "cuisine"?

Yeah like our use of "football"!

We use kickers/punters in "our" football, too...so technically, it's not wrong as soccer purists like to make it out to be.  Speaking of which, considering they also hit the ball with their head, so we complain that they should call it headball, instead?

We say / You say:
Pavement / Sidewalk
Tap/Faucet

We actually use those similarly.  We say "pound the pavement" when speaking on going out, door to door. Walking.   Also "Tap water", or "water from the tap".

Have you been to the States before?

PS Irony in Harlan's hilarious post, Football fans don't consider the kickers ACTUAL football players.  Its and increasingly disposable aspect of the game.  OT eliminated winning on a FG in the first possession.  They've discussed eliminating kick offs.

Q: So, my question...why did you guys name stuff so wrong we had to correct it all?

A: I'm not sure the inventors of the language got it wrong.

---

Q: What are the five most memorable concerts you've been to?

A: Wacken 2006 in Germany: (Wintersun, Nevermore, Opeth, Children of Bodom, Ministry, Amon Amarth, Whitesnake, Emperor, Motörhead, Scorpions and many more.

Bloodstock 2009: (Carcass, Arch Enemy, Saxon ,Municipal Waste, Insomnium, Candlemass, Battlelore, Amon Amarth, Moonspell, Sabaton and more.)

Type O Negative: I think this was their last gig in the UK before Pete Steele died.

Opeth: They had a very famous gig at the Roundhouse in the UK; Famous because of the high quality of the sound and their performance as a whole.

New York Dolls: At the Royal Festival Hall. Just because they are legends.

---

Q:What do you think is American "cuisine"?

A: THIS!

---
Q: Are you a fellow football fan?  (your football, not our football)

A: I was as a child; now I mainly watch England games or big matches when they are on.

---

Q: Have you been to the States before?

A: Nope; the flight prices are over the top. My Girlfriend and I were planning a trip to Florida (Her choice. I wanted to go to Vegas or New York.) But we could do a European trip visiting many countries for half the price. So we did that instead.

Yea, well...if you do come here, don't go to Florida.  You're choices were the right choices.  And practically anything is better then Florida.  It's all old retired people...

THIS, unless you go to Disney World or one of the Spring Break spots during that span of time.  And if you consider doing either of those things, I'd recommend against it.

I'd probably recommend Boston, unless you like hordes of people and Broadway shows, then New York is probably the better option.

My GF wanted to stay in Universal. I was only okay with this because I knew there were two TNA Impacts and a PPV while we were going to be there lol. I didn't tell her this however.

I live in Florida, I'm okay with it. I'd rather be in Texas, like I was before Florida, but I like Florida.

Fuck New York. New England, for that matter.  :P

With Bubble and Squeak it depends on how good your leftovers are. That is all it is really, just leftovers from Sunday Roast mashed then fried or baked depending on how you like it. I personally quite like it.

Motorhead.
Iron Maiden.
Rainbow/Dio (Dio is from New York however.)
Judas Priest.
Saxon.

I went with traditional metal. If I included other styles like Doom Metal then Bands like My Dying Bride and Black Sabbath would easily make the list.

Where does SHOOT Project rank in terms of e-feds you've been in, based on quality, OOC area and superlatives?

Q: Where does SHOOT Project rank in terms of e-feds you've been in, based on quality, OOC area and superlatives?

A:
Quality:
I have been lucky with the feds I have main-stayed in; they have had great RPers and great results. SHOOT is right up there with them in that aspect. I think any writer from SHOOT would have done well in these  past feds and I think RP wise some of the people I have fedded with in the past would do well in SHOOT also.

OOC: SHOOT is easily the best fed I have been in for OOC; like I said about the RPers in previous feds; work-wise they would do well here in SHOOT. However a lot of them had huge egos. Were not capable of angling matches or working towards a storyline goal.  Also OOC topics were dead and a lot of them didn't want to talk. (Not all of them, some of them were awesome people.) But I haven't seen a fed with OOC as good as SHOOT period!

Conclusion: I have a lot of past with a few feds I have been in. Bout out of the core 50 people I have played this game with (I'm only including my two biggest feds here.) There are only maybe 5 of them that I would still talk to or want to work with again. While here in SHOOT I would have no problem working with anyone or talking to anyone. SHOOT's biggest draw is the OOC. Which is a big thing to say given the high quality of results, RPs and extras like the radio shows/AMA/Cards Against Humanity (Which I will play at some point.)

Also with results. It really feels like a team effort. I have written a lot of matches, segments and angles in other feds and I have always given 100% however I had noticed others would half ass it. I do not see that here. Team Work and good OOC go hand in hand. And it shows through the RPs and results.

SHOOT would at this point in time take my Number 1 Spot in my top 3 feds.

Q: Do you speak any other languages?

A: I am currently looking into to learning Guernésiais. It is a Patios that is spoken by very few where I live and is actually a dying language.

I downloaded Irish Gaelic Rosetta Stone. Is it a dying dialect, too? I understand that England isn't Ireland, but I assume you'd know better than me.

The British isles had a plethora of spoken languages and most of them are dying out in favour of English.

Gàidhlig (Scottish Gaelic): Which is rarely spoken.

Gaeilge (Irish Gaelic): I know there is a intuitive in place in Ireland now to try and preserve it.

Welsh: The Welsh have gone into overdrive in the past 20 years. Every road sign is now in Welsh, they have Welsh spoken radio/TV and it is mandatory to learn in schools.

I am originally from London. But my girlfriend is from Guernsey. Guernsey is part of the British Isles but isn't part of the UK (Like southern Ireland.) Guernsey is also not part of the EU either. I moved to Guernsey a few weeks before Christmas and there is only 60,000 inhabitants on this small island. and only 2% of them speak Guernésiais and they are mainly people over the age of 70. and I have been contemplating learning it myself.
