STRAIGHT SHOOTIN'
Dutch, I... I honestly don't know where to begin. We promised the world "Redemption" under the lights of the Pinnacle. We had thousands of fans creating a breathtaking "Sea of Stars." But by the end of the night? That stadium felt like a graveyard.
I have spent a lifetime in this business, Scott. I have seen betrayals. I have seen violence. But what we witnessed during the 8-Person Tag Team Match wasn't wrestling. It was a systematic execution. It was the death of a family.
It was supposed to be the "United Front." Thunderwolf, Chance Kelser, Corey Lazarus, Misty Starks... they stood united in the locker room. They said "No Hard Feelings." But it was all a trap. Arthur Pleasant tapped a silver pen against the ring post, and the world ended.
It was gruesome. Sammy Rochester literally buried Holden Nobody under the timekeeper's barricade. Arthur Pleasant took that pen and drove it into Corey Lazarus's eye. But the knife in the back? That came from Chance Kelser.
Chance Kelser stood back-to-back with his father... and then shattered a steel chair across his spine. He joined forces with Hannah Kelser—who had just broken her mother's nose—and they... they crucified Thunderwolf, Dutch. They chained him to a wooden cross in the corner and made him watch as they broke his daughter Fiona's arms.
"Lesson Twenty-One: A coward, no more." That's what Chance said. He kissed his sister, he burned the ring, and he left his father broken in the ashes. The DeMONSTRance didn't just win; they annihilated the soul of the Kelser Covenant.
Lost in the horror of the night was the fact that we had a World Heavyweight Championship match. Joshua Breedlove walked into a war against X-Calibur and Laura Seton. It was an Elimination Match, and the "Emperor" did exactly what he said he would do.
He is the Inevitable, Scott. Hate him all you want, but Breedlove survived. He's leaving New York as the Champion. But we saw him clutching that left shoulder on the way out. He's hurt. And he has to defend that title at Reckoning Day against a man who has nothing left to lose.
That's right. Earlier in the night, Thunderwolf entered the Redemption Rumble at Number 30 and won the whole thing. He eliminated Ricky Tenet to punch his ticket. But after what happened later in the night... what version of Thunderwolf is going to show up at Reckoning Day? A hero? or a man with a death wish?
Speaking of Ricky Tenet... the kid went 30+ minutes in the Rumble, survived until the final two, and then immediately had to fight Darkspade to fulfill "The Bargain."
The tank was empty, Dutch. Darkspade picked the bones. Ricky lost the match. He supposedly won his freedom from the stalking, but after seeing his father, Corey Lazarus, blinded in one eye later that night? Ricky Tenet is living in hell right now.
And Emiko Fujimoto. We thought Austin Anderson was coming out to fight NC-17. Instead, Emiko locked her own agent in the locker room and fought with broken ribs. It was brave, but it was foolish. NC-17 showed no mercy. He beat her, and he kept his momentum. Sometimes, heart just isn't enough.
This season finale changed everything. Peaknuckle and Pigpen tore each other apart in a King of Death match. The Punch Line used their "Last Bullet" treaty clause. But the image burned into everyone's mind is Chance Kelser standing over his broken family.
The landscape has shifted violently. The Emperor reigns, but the Kingdom is burning. We will see you at Reckoning Day.
